What's New in Version 1.4
On review, Mr. Fiske pointed out that it is very important, and school and guidance counselors would insist, that SAT scores be presented in ranges. Students tend to read a single number as a minimum, and are incorrectly discouraged from applying to what might be the best school for them.
So, we have included SAT ranges in the detail image with what looks like a key way between 2 & 3 o'clock. In the text detail we show the base image, but indicate SAT range using text.
Half the students in last year's freshmen class scored in between the two numbers shown. 25% scored below the lower number and 25% scored above the higher number.
Also, the 1.4 version runs only on devices upgraded to the 3.0 OS. There are real benefits in the new OS that send a clear signal to 'get with the program.'

Helps sort when you are working the middle ground
The two things we found useful are schools sorted by drop out rate. They call that number of returning freshmen, or Return Fresh. There are huge variations and we wanted to not have to hit reset after just one year in college. This sorted list helped us find schools that performed better than Purdue, but still offered the other things we were looking for.
Remarkably the other thing we used was the Phi Beta Kappa chapter on campus. That is an honor society for non-engneering students. We wanted to know that the quality of the non-engineering academics was, and that there were enough academically performing liberal arts students at the school to warrant a chapter.
The quick view of SAT ranges (was it only a sliver or is there some reasonable distribution?) helped us get an idea if studying would produce results to create some sort of positive feedback for a kid who needs to study more.
